The Groton Place

After 8 years living in Groton I finally wandered into the woods! The Groton Place to be precise. It’s off 225 right before Nashoba Paddler as you head to West Groton. The place is full of trails and dogs, yes dogs…..lots of them. All mind you brought other humans for company. If you get out this way it’s worth a visit. Go here for more info.

This is an interesting one and one I was not expecting to find. The last hunt I was at was over thirty years ago. Mind you I was just hanging with the doggies!

If you get out this way and have a dog, or not, check out “The Groton Place”.

Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum

It’s 20 years since I last visited and with the exception of the new addition, I’m happy to say that nothing has changed.

Piano did a nice job joining the old and new. From an architectural stand point it works very well.

Jess waiting for the next show. The Candlewood Concert Hall is a true gem the nods to the center court yard space of the main house. Build in what I would describe as a black box theater. All levels have one row of seating except the ground so everyone has a good view.

Visit and stay a while. Go here for info.

Lowell Summer Music Series

Jess and I are at the Lowell Summer Music Series tonight. Kicking off for Buddy Guy is Quinn Sullivan…..he’s 14 years old and is better on a guitar than many folks four times his age.

Was this a gift?: No

This is a nice paddle bag, well made and easily holds three paddles. It sure beats trying to carry 3 paddles that are broken down, making a total of 6 pieces! All I need to do now is grab the bag and toss it into my car and I don’t have to think twice about our paddles.

JMans birthday strike again

This evening we went to our local Mexican Resturant ixtapa.

He asked for a Coke and got it.

Then he was surprised by the wait staff with a happy birthday in Spanish. Pretty cool stuff. He was shocked when they placed a sombrero on his head! However, the ice cream made up for the shock!

When we got home we had more sugar in the form of mini cup cakes.

Groton Fireworks

Groton decided to hold the annual 4th of July fireworks on Monday July 8th at 9:30pm. We decided to get the kids ready for bed, drive into town and find a good spot to watch from the car.

We found a great spot but its now 10:00 pm and no fireworks. Shame on the Town of Groton for A. Picking a Monday night and B. Not staring on time.

We left a few minutes after 10! Hope they find a good use for the rest of my tax money.
