Field trip

Today was JMan’s field trip to downtown Fitchburg MA. We visited the Post Office, Firehouse, Library and the Mayors office. A few years ago I did the same outing with GMan.

First stop was the Gazebo for snacks.

Then it was off to the Post Office where all the kids mailed letters home.

Then all the kids got to wear Post Office shirts for a tour.

Apparently 1st grade weighs 750 LBS. I wonder how much it would be to mail them all off somewhere!

Fireman John started our tour in the dispatch room where all the 911 calls come to. From there we moved into the garage to check out all the trucks.

After a much needed lunch provided by Chief Jeff we headed back uptown to the Library.

Mayors Office

Everyone checked out books and we heading to the Mayors Office.

Mayor Lisa A. Wong came in and talked about all the things the city provides. Then we had a question and answer session and Mayor Wong addressed all manner of questions including one about the gas pipe line that may be coming. Here’s Mayor Wong showing off the new city flag.

Disney – Day 4

Today’s activities include the following:

Crystal Palace.

Again, Disney sure knows how to move people…..thousands of people.

Tomorrowland Speedway. The is forced corning kart racing. A steel upright keep your car in lane. The trick is to not hit it as if scrubs speed. It not fast, but it’s fun.

Back to the hotel to freshen up, dinner and then we ran into Elvis.

On the bus again and back to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks display. This place is busier at night. I was amazed at the number of people. We got there on the late side and endeared up sanding off to the left of the castle. The fireworks and light display were very good and it’s hard to believe it happens every night.

$13 to sit in traffic!

GWB is $13! I think I’ll ask for a rebate.

1.5 hours to cross the bridge. By the time we got to the accident it was cleared up! I feel ripped offed….

6.5 hours on the road….We found 31 states on the USA License Plate Game. Look up this for more info.

Battleship Cove

In honor of Memorial Day the lads and I visited Battleship Cove in Fall River MA. Go here for more information.

We had a great time milling around and exploring the ships and submarine. We got the tail end of the Memorial Day celebration. “Honor and commemorate the men and women who gave their lives for freedom. Experience a traditional military observance at 12:00 PM with the raising of the American flag from half-staff and a 21-gun salute.”

Carnival

The nackers set shop between the Peasant Lane Mall and Home Depot and we felt compelled to drop a few bucks.

First the Ferris Wheel.

Then is water gun race where JMan won but GMan also won a prize.

This weekend was Lenore’s birthday. We had dinner out and cake at the house.

JMan made it to the top

Not that any of us though otherwise but JMan made it to the top today…….the top was Nashoba Valley. Lesson 4 and the instructor decided it was lift time.

Here’s JMan with his instructor on his first chair lift ride.

On his second run his was a little slow off the mark and ended up on the next chair by himself. He didn’t seem too bothered as he passed me. In fact he look quite relaxed.
