Testing Newton’s Third Law

Jess and I had the honor of testing Newton’s Third Law the other day. For those less familiar here’s a refresher.

Formally stated, Newton’s third lawis: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object.

In our case the force was a moving car and the equal and opposite reaction was my front passenger wheel!

Here’s the results:

JMan table

JMan decided that he wanted to build a table. After much debating he settled on the legs……then wanted a secret hiding place in the top.

I drew a picture of top and he added the flip up lid in perspective! Son of an architect he is…..I was very impressed with his concept and design, but the fact that he just picked up the pencil and added the flip up top blew me away.

20 minutes or so later we had the following.

Richie Sachs

My family surprised me with a Richie Sachs bike for my 50th birthday. Richie is my wife cousin and he refurbished one of his personal bikes for me. It’s many years since I was on a dropped handled bar bike but the old feelings came back quick. This bike is a screamer. Go here for more info on Richie. Thanks all.
