I figured one of the kids was playing around rocking the couch, only to find them in the kitchen with Jess. I really shook the house.

We have a visitor this weekend, it’s Simba the rabbit from JMan class at Groton Community School (GCS). As far as visitors this one is dead handy, quite, remains in his place, doesn’t talk back or ask for anything and is trilled to bits when you toss him a carrot.
JMan and Simba.
Which one is/should be in the cage.
7 years later we finally got new paving on our street. If all goes well they will offer town sewer in a few weeks and dig it up again!
Yesterday was a great day for hanging out indoors. While my better 1/2 was at work (yes on Sunday) I took the kids and headed north.
The See Science Center has many interesting exhibits for kids and adults alike. It has a really nice Lego display of the mills in Manchester as there were at the turn of the century (1900’s that is). Cool to think that folks still work in them today.
The above is my office!
Here’s GMan having fun with Lego’s
JMan gets a new do! This exhibit shows how a airplane wing works. However, JMan wanted nothing to do with that.
GMan checks out the vertical guitar.
JMan plays with power.
JMan making electricity.
The next time the power goes out we’re getting one of these!
It’s GMan’s birthday this week so we are doing the cool stuff today.
We started in the Hard Rock cafe in Boston. GMan’s friend W from school came along.
GMan was sufficiently embarrassed by the screaming happy birthday routine they do here.
However the bonus is the ice cream sunday.
The icing on the cake was Blue Man Group.
If you have not seem it……go!
All ready for the flying bananas, paint, Captain Crunch or what else makes it off the stage.
With second row seating we managed to get slimed a few time. At this range you also need a good stomach as well as good reflexes! But at any distance it’s a great show and very funny.
GMan and W meet a Blue Man post show in the lobby. These guys are great at keeping straight faces. Even during photo time they stay in character. However, during the Captain Crunch routine one did crack a smile at his drooling crunch, but managed to keep it together. We on the other hand didn’t know whether to laugh or be totally grosses out, we chose a combination but leaned toward laughter.
GMan’s buddy W
Blue Man meets Green Man!
The whole gang meets Blue Man
W and GMan show off their true spots.

Happy birthday GMan….here’s to many many more. Love Dad
Downloaded AutoRap and it can even make me sound good. Here the GMans version of “Yo, my name is Joe”
The remainder of the morning was spend at indian hill music.
The kids had a great time checking out and trying all the instruments.
JMan with a little boost from Jess tries out the Harp.
Jess gives it a whirl.
GMan tries the flute.
JMans turn.
Time for some real noise! JMan’s effort.
JMans turn.
Next….trombone.
Drums….we won’t be buying a set anytime soon.
Dueling cello’s
JMan cranks it out.
GMan on the sax. Mind you GMan didn’t want to come but a few minutes on the sax was all it took. Starting next Thursday he’ll be taking lessons.
It’s a little early for Snowboarding, but nothing like picking up a few items in preparation. GMan, JMan and myself took a spin out to Wachusett Mountain for the labor day sale. While the parking lot was quite full it turned out that most people were attending a wedding. However, we were not along in the ski shop. I was not looking for anything in particular, but JMan wants to take boarding lessons so we picked up a nice Smith Helmet for short money.
The highlight of the trip was a ride up the chair life! It was weird not to have something hanging from one foot. The boy did great on the getting on and off. You gotta love detachable quads!
On the way up. I just made 1/2 of myself so I could sit on with side of the kids!
On top of the mountain.
JMan checks out the pond.
GMan all smiles.
On the way down.
JMan’s new lid.
GMan’s 80’s cop impression with JMan.
Subaru on the summit road.

This morning while driving on 495 I spotted a SUV coming up behind me with a pair of Hullavators on the roof. As he passed by I glanced over and got a thumbs up as the driver smiled and pointed at my Hullavator. I smiled and returned the gesture.
It’s nice to see that total strangers can connect even for a few seconds on a common hobby. Thanks Mr. SUV you sure brightened up my day.
Go here for details on Hullavator.
