Have you gone apple picking yet? Typically this time if year is a fun event for all. However, today someone told me about a new trend.
It’s stealing Apple phones while the owner is talking on It! Yes, Manchester NH has something else to be proud of! Apparently the snatch and run method is very good. I’m not certain what happens if it’s an droid product, but the moral here is keep your apples in your pockets.
I just got carded in Chunky’s! I’m going to have to hang out in badly lit room more often and order beers. Granted out server was training…..but I do feel young from the experience!!!
Groton decided to hold the annual 4th of July fireworks on Monday July 8th at 9:30pm. We decided to get the kids ready for bed, drive into town and find a good spot to watch from the car.
We found a great spot but its now 10:00 pm and no fireworks. Shame on the Town of Groton for A. Picking a Monday night and B. Not staring on time.
We left a few minutes after 10! Hope they find a good use for the rest of my tax money.
Gulp this Bloomberg! Just down the road in NJ the local 7.11 is happy to sell you 52 oz of liquid goodness.
Day 4 was another train ride in NY.
After a short cab ride we emerged in Time Square
On the way down 45th to lunch we passed Jacobs!
Lunch was at 5 Napkin Burger on the corner if 45th and 9th.
Yet another acoustically challenged resturant! However, the food coming out of the kitchen looked good. Here’s my avocado ranch burger….tastes as good as it looks.
After lunch we walked back the two block to the Minskoff Theater and the Lion King. Everyone that has seen this show says its great so we were really looking forward to it. We were in row K on the aisle. If Dickie Rock was on stage we’d be getting wet for sure!
Simply put this is the best live show I have every seem. The sets, costumes, acting and everything else is out of the world. I can’t imagine the back stage work that needs to go into pulling the show off…..wow, did I say wow.

Happiness is having to pick which Starbucks to go to! I needed a fix so we picked this one.
Jess found another gem in the “Little Pie Company.
This is one of those just out if the way, but close enough to walk too places. I had the apple pie and again it tasted as good at it looks.

Prior to another cab ride a fellow student from the BAC tapped me on the shoulder and said “where do I know you from”! Odd how you can be in one of the busiest cities and someone picks you out of the crowd. Apparently Jared and I were in Structures 2 together!

Lou and Lenore’s celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past weekend. We went down to NJ to visit and help celebrate. It was a quite affair with family and close friends that make a wonder dinner we all enjoyed. Here’s to the next 60 and good luck to all.
All I can say is TGIF! Beer of the moment is Dogfish Head 60 Minute India Pale Ale. To be honest I didn’t taste the first 1/2 but the second is going down real nice. According to my lovely bride this would be one of those “it taste like dirt beers…..well ale”. Not that its bitter, but it’s requires a certain experience….say a few pints of Guinness for example. It smooth, clean, not too much after taste and I’m sure it will take the edge off!

The Cliff House opened in 1872 and the original owner Elsie Jane’s formula was ” clean rooms, fine food, fresh air, personal hospitality – all in an incomparable scenic location”.
So far it’s lived up to her formula and we’ll be back for sure.
Sunrise on the Atlantic. Ireland is just a short trot across the pond! Just keep heading East and you’ll find it.

Way finding for those non architectural type is the ability to find your way around a building. As some of you may know I’m big on it. The Cliff House is lacking a lot in this department. The real issue was no master plan and the desire to build on, join together and move people between spaces. Our room for example was on the first floor (room 504!), but the ground floor was Level 4. We had to take the elevator down to Level 2, then a stairs down to Level 1. In the middle you need to move thru one if those odd connector spaces, but you actually go up a ramp prior to going down the stair! However, it’s good for a few laughs and at least you get a little exercise.
