JMan tried out my kayak on Forge Pond today. In a few years he’ll grow into it.

Many years ago pre kids Jess and I were poking around a yard sale. I came across a clay pigeon thrower, or clay chucker as I call them. The sticker said $10 and I bought it for $8….don’t you just love a bargain.
It found its way over the garage and there it sat until I remembered while paying for ammo the other day! Funny how that happened. I dragged it down, planted the front pegs on the back 9 and let a few rip. After I was satisfied that it was safe I set a few ground rule and gave the kids a turn.

We picked up an old 130MM ammo can at Arhaus Furniture today. Let’s just say that I’m very impressed my wife actually liked it as a piece of furniture. Not sure where it will end up or what it will hold/house etc.
It was on sale for $65 with the stand, not a bad deal. I did a quick search on eBay and only found up to 50MM with a current bid of $35 not including shipping.
In any event it will make a nice conversation piece, pot holder or book rack.
Two days out and recovery is not moving fast enough for me! Perhaps my age has something to do with it. Yesterday I felt like crap and every time I breath in through my nose I could feel the operation! Weird, almost like something is up there with a pick axe hacking away. On top of that I was extremely dizzy.
Today started out good. Currently having coffee, but I’m not moving fast and don’t expect I will be for a for more days.
I’m so getting back on my rowing machine when I get over the hump. I have to think that the healing process will be faster if I feel good about my well being.
More later.
I had out patient surgery for my over active sinuses this am. The whole process went remarkably well…thankfully. In at 7:15am, on the table at 9, done at 9:45, post op for a few hours and then home. When asked by one of the nurses pre op how I was doing I said fine, and this will be a walk in the park. I was right, compared to the last rota-rooter job I had on my nose this one was a piece of cake.
As always everyone was wonderfully at the Lahey and according to the doc everything went great.
Jess dove me home and I’m now resting in bed. Pink Floyd never sounded as good……apparently the drug kicked in!
Me and my designer drip catcher!

Sunday’s were meant for cruising around. We started with breakfast at Joey’s Diner in Amherst NH and then returned a kayak to EMS in Peterborough NH. While there we picked up a few items off the sale rack including a great deal on a shell for $100….saving $150. Just love a bargain.

Reflection.
As may have read while camping we spend a great deal of time on the water. I really put the OB iPhone bag through the ringer and it came out dry every time. It got splashed a lot, dropped in the water twice as I was getting out of my kayak and it sat on the bottom of my boat for extended periods.
What sealed the deal for me was when we were practicing wet exists and self rescues. I placed the OB (with phone) under the bungee so it would not be flopping around. I must have flipped my boat ten times and showered it with water in my failed attempts to get my sorry you know what back in my boat, and not a single drop of water got in!
