Warming up for St.Particks Day

We did a dry run for St.Patricks Day, boiled dinner!

You can never have too much….yum. By the way corned beef and cabbage is not the real thing. Boiled ham, cabbage and potatoes is the way to go….IMO. What do I know….I’m just off the boat!

History Day

GMan and a classmate took third place at regionals History Day today. They’ll be going to states in April!

On the way up…..

And the way down….you try getting a teenager to pose!

Hugs all around. We are so proud of his achievement.

Pizza after…..well, iPod/iPhone time.

Snowshoeing

JMan and I rented snowshoes from EMS and hit the woods.

JMan leading the way.

Not sure if this is an official skidoo trail but someone sure make our jobs easy as the trail was well packed.

However, going off trail proved to be more work, non the less it was easy to stay on top, and a whole lot easier than doing it in boots.

JMan lot his head of steam a little over 1/2 way. I’ll admit we did climb a few good sized hills and where the boots made it possible it requires a fair amount of work.

JMan taking a much needed rest.

Above and below are a few selfies on the trail.

All totaled we did 1.3 miles in 45 minutes. That’s a good pace for JMan legs.

BARCH VDAY CARD

BARCH VDAY CARD = Bachelor of Architecture Valentines Day card. Might as well get some value out of my degree! Made this one up for Jess, mounted on foamcore, like a true architectural board.

Artisan Tart

Spotted at Starbucks. So is an “Artisan Tart” a crafty nubile young temptress, who dresses teasingly and provocatively? The real question is…..how does she taste!

Gingerbread House

In the spirit of the holiday season, and for the sake of my architectural degree, JMan, GMan and I build a gingerbread house. Tonight JMan and I applied the finishing touches.

Complete with shadow study!

I’m guessing it’s 11:45am on a sunny day with no clouds.

For all you architectural types. This is the SOUTH ELEVATION

Cube fun

My comrade in cube Mike and I decided this year is the year we’d win the cube decorating contest.

Here’s the concept. Note the *Fire Hazard warning! Build a wall that completely covered our cube opening. Do it after hours, leave no mess and it cannot impact anything. Last year for Halloween we got in trouble for hanging stuff off the sprinkler pipes!

Here’s the end results.

Window treatments.

Inside view. Note the fine framing job Mike did on the wall. Operable door and all!

Now that it’s up we are trying to come up with excuses to keep it in place. After all only director get offices!
