Yet another uneventful flight. I’m very fond of planes that work exactly as they should and Aer Lingus seems to get it right.
It was a great trip and I’m looking forward to a night in with my family.

Memorial to fallen solders at Costume Barrack in Athlone. In 1925 a great uncle of mine was killed when a mine exploded at the barrack. His name was Joey Hoey.

Murry’s
Murray’s is an original Irish pub that was established in a house. It older than the hills and still retains its old world charm that I have not found anywhere…..
Old Mrs. Murry ran it for decades and young Mrs. Murry helped out. When old Mrs. Murry passed young Mrs. Murry took over and at some point her niece started helping out. About six years ago young Mrs. Murry died and the niece is now serving.
Finding this place is half the adventure as it’s in the middle of no where. Find it if you can and enjoy the best pint of Guinness in the world.

Ireland trip – Getting there
I’m off to the green sod today, traveling with two mates from work. My line around the office is “I’m leaving my two kids here, while traveling to Ireland with two other kids!”.
First stop Logan Express in Woburn MA. The last time I took this bus into Logan it left from Washington Street and I lived in Reading, or Stoneham, or possible Melrose. That my friends was a few years ago.
Looking forward to spending some time with my family and entertaining my work mates when ever they appear in Athlone (that’s my he town).
